CDC Grimm CL®
CDC Grimm (IBC-1199) is a large green Clearfield® lentil variety. Disease resistance characteristics for CDC Grimm indicate improved resistance to anthracnose race 1 and is rated as MR which represents the best anthracnose resistance in this market class (both rating & field observation). CDC Grimm is best adapted to the brown and dark brown soil zones. In 8 years of testing in the Lentil Regional Variety Trials, CDC Grimm yielded 2% higher than CDC Lima in the brown and dark brown soil zones and 8% lower in the black and dark grey soil zones. In other characteristics, compared to CDC Lima, CDC Grimm has a larger seed size, similar maturity and is 5 cm taller. Application for PBR’91 protection for CDC Grimm has been submitted.
Statistical analysis of 8 years of long-term RVT data ranked CDC Grimm 2nd from the top for yield in the brown & dark brown soil zones and 3rd in the black soil zone among 4 historical and new large green lentil varieties.
