CDC Sublime CL®
CDC Sublime (IBC-1264-1) is a high-yielding large red Clearfield® lentil variety. This variety yielded 120% of CDC Maxim in the 2016-18 Lentil Co-op trials. Over 8 years of testing in the Co-op and Regional Trials in Saskatchewan, CDC Sublime yielded 118% of CDC Maxim in the brown and dark brown soil zones and 107% in the black and dark grey soil zones. Maturity and disease resistance characteristics are similar to CDC Maxim. CDC Sublime is taller than CDC Maxim. Seed size is slightly less than current large red lentil varieties however seed thickness is greater. CDC Sublime has PBR’91 protection. CDC Sublime has a red cotyledon with a green seed coat colour making it unique to the marketplace. Grading protocols to distinguish red cotyledon lentils with green seed coats from green lentils will be established by the Canadian Grain Commission. To prevent potential admixture of these lentils with large green lentils, CDC Sublime is only available through closed-loop, contract production.
